CLEMENT PAI`AINA REGATTA

Sunday, June 1st could not have been a better day for a mass canoe blessing complete with a flower drop and paddlers lined up on the shore singing all three verses of “Hawai`i Pono`i”.  Congratulations to Healani Canoe Club on a beautiful ceremony.

So we are off with one regatta under our belt. We finished 4th in our AAA Division 3 points behind third place Outrigger Canoe Club. This is just the start and we have room for improvement. Keep working on your technique and blend.

KAMEHAMEHA REGATTA

Next up is the Kamehameha Regatta sponsored by Kailua Canoe Club at Kailua Beach on June 8th.

The 17/18 Junior Boys and Junior Girls have set up and the 65 Men and Women have take down.

Parking is at a premium but there is an easy solution: Ka`ohao School is fundraising for their Big island and D.C. school trips by selling parking ($21.75) on their premises, a short walk to the beach. The reservation comes with free shuttle service to the beach boat ramp. You can also order a breakfast burrito to go! Use the link to make your reservation.  https://www.tickettailor.com/self-service/kaohaoschool/e096e127-6d4c-4665-abb8-66ac65a5c8ff

KEIKI FUN DAY

Save the date for Keiki Fun Day: Saturday, June 28th. After four weekends of regattas we have the perfect weekend for the 1st Hui Nalu Keiki Fun Day on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m!

Kai Mead has taken the lead on this event with plans for lots of fun games (Wa`a bailing contest, scavenger hunt), cultural sessions (kupe`e making, coconut weaving, rigging workshop) and CPR training to name a few. We encourage any registered Hui Nalu keiki to sign up. Lunch will also be provided.

MISSED THE LOGOWEAR SALE?

Never fear! You can still order. Check out the black sweatshirt hoodie! Perfect for that late afternoon at the Waimanalo Regatta! Text Tiffany at 808-397-6373 or email her at Tiffany.arapari@gmail.com.

PADDLES!

Please, please, PLEASE put your name and phone number on your paddle!

We have had numerous paddlers misplacing/forgetting/losing their paddle. You have a better chance of getting your paddle back if it has your information on it.
