FATHER'S DAY REGATTA

Happy belated Father’s Day to all our DADS! We ordered the fabulous weather and awesome water conditions just for you.

Hui Nalu once again finished in 4th place (95 points) in the AAA Division only 4 points behind Kailua Canoe Club (99 points). Congratulations to the many crews who improved in placement this weekend.

Presently we have 33 crews in the running to qualify for the MacFarlane regatta in Waikiki and 3 crews on the cusp of qualifying.

WAIMANALO REGATTA

This weekend we will travel next door to Waimanalo. So far the weather looks like it will be partly cloudy, high will be 85F, winds ENE at 15 - 25mph!, 67% humidity, UV index is EXTREME, sunrise at 5:49 a.m., sunset at 7:14 p.m. This regatta tends to run a little long.  Luckily, there is entertainment and we ordered our own sanitois!

Novice A Women and 70 Men are in charge of set up and rigging. Mark Cluney is trailering.  The canoes, tables, tent pipes, rigging box are on the trailer at the Blankenfeld compound. The tent connections, tent spikes, First Aid Kit and AED are in the halau. Set up can start as early as 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The Novice A Men are in charge of take down. This week the canoes need to be put back in the halau along with the tent equipment, etc.

This is not optional. Assigned crews need to be there to kokua. This is part of being a member of Hui Nalu Canoe Club. With enough hands the task will be completed quickly.

HALAU FACELIFT

The halau has a new look, and we can now easily open our gates!

Mahalo to Tommy Waters and the City Council who funded the project.

Once the gates were up Mike Hunneman, Bob Rocheleau, Nalu Kukea, Greg Poole, Rocky Higgins and Ed Prokopik put their painting skills to work to spruce up the pillars and beams. We learned that Ed has real painting skills! Mahalo guys! Lunch was catered by Bozo Vierra. Mahalo Bozo for thinking of them!

F45

It’s never too late to sign up for F45! Come work out with friends in AC! Each F45 workout is a unique program that incorporates cardio, resistance-based strength training, or a hybrid of both, all geared toward everyday life.
